Biography: Clare qualified from Sheffield University in 1986 and completed the Derby Vocational Training Scheme for General Practice in 1990. She moved to Chesterfield in 1991 as a part-time salaried GP and currently works for The Surgery @ Wheatbridge. In 1996 she joined the cardiologists at Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Royal Hospital and works as an Associate Specialist. For 15 years she worked in Cardiac Rehabilitiation (CR) as clinical lead and was instrumental in the development of the community CR programme.

She currently runs two Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinics per week and a general cardiology clinic which deals mainly with people who have had a recent myocardial infarction.
Three years ago Clare trained with the National Refractory Angina Centre to develop a refractory angina service in primary care. Clare is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer associated with Bradford Diploma in Cardiology for Practitioners with Special Interest teaching on the IHD and hypertension modules. She is also part of a small team that provides training for primary care practitioners on cardiovascular related topics up and down the country.
